Arén Castle

Its strategic position was chosen for the defensive purpose that the area was to serve. The remains of this medieval castle, which is set against an elongated hill that protects it against the winds from the north, offer you a great vantage point from which you have unobstructed views in all four directions.

To the north you can see Sobrecastell and the Mountains of Sis in the distance; to the west, the Berganui and Claravalls mountains; and to the south, Campamento de Arén with Mont-Rebei Gorge sparkling in the background.

Also worth a visit is the nearby site where Blasisaurus have been found, a Hadrosaurid dinosaur dating to 70 million years ago, alongside turtle shells and crocodile teeth from the same period.
